Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive at Paro Airport and transfer to Thimphu, the capital city (1 hour 30 minutes drive, 2320m/7656ft). Our representative will meet you at Paro Airport. Explore the memorial Chorten, Budha view point for a panoramic Thimphu city view, and Tashichho Dzong, if time permitted parliament visit.
Day 2
Explore Thimphu and drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass. Morning highlights include Changangkha Lhakhang, Motithang (National animal) – The Takin preserve center. Head to Dochula Pass (10,000ft) for a stunning view of the Eastern Himalayan range. After lunch, proceed to Punakha approximately 2 hrs drive. The main attraction in Punakha, Bhutan, is the iconic Punakha Dzong. This fortress is situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers and is renowned for its stunning architecture and historical significance.
Day 3
Explore Punakha town and tour the summer residence of the Central Monastic body, Punakha Dzong. Afterward, visit Wangdi town, then journey to Paro via Dochula Pass and Thimphu Town Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, harmoniously blends tradition with modernity. Set in the Himalayas, it features vibrant markets, the Tashichho Dzong for traditional ceremonies, and iconic landmarks like the Memorial Chorten and Buddha Dordenma statue. This town offers a captivating fusion of Bhutanese heritage in a modern capital setting.
Day 4. Explore Paro and Hike to Taktshang Monastery.
Embark on an early morning hike to the iconic Taktshang Monastery, perched 800m/2640 ft up a cliff. This cultural gem, also known as Tiger’s Nest, was mysteriously consumed by fire in 1998 but has been restored. Legend has it that Guru Rimopche flew on a tigress’s back to the site in the 8th century. The 5-6 hrs  hike offers diverse terrain. Optional horse rides are available. Afterward, explore Paro Dzong and enjoy local sights in Paro market upon returning.
Day 5
Departure from Paro: You  will be escort to the airport for your onward flight to your destination.
